MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641041970 A) filed by T O Varghese; and Lucy E, Kollam, Kerala, on April 1, for 'a device for generating energy using a boom and counter-weight.'

Inventor(s) include T O Varghese; and Lucy E.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for generating energy using a boom and counter-weight is disclosed. The device includes a boom, adapted to oscillate at an angle about a primary pivot. The boom is fabricated by a triangular truss structure which decreases in width from base to top and is formed by bars interconnected trough triangular joints. A rope and pully structure is adapted to lift boom upward when a motor is energized. The counter-weight enabling structure is adapted to rotatably move-based movement of the boom to balance a torque reaction. A rotatable movement forms a rotation diameter half the length of rope. A first limit switch activates the motor when boom and first limit switch are in contact, to initiate an upper boom movement. A second limit switch deactivates the motor when second limit switch and boom are in contact to initiate a lower boom movement enabled under a gravitational force."
