MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115858 A) filed by Graphic Era, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Nov. 23, 2025, for 'a device for autonomous soil testing and data collection.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohammad Wazid; Akash; and Priyanshi Juyal.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a device for autonomous soil testing and data collection. The device can be attached or fitted with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The present invention is related to precision agriculture and soil sensing using drones equipped with automated soil sensing mechanisms. The invention involves a flying drone that is integrated with a NPK sensor and soil moisture sensor, where servos dynamically insert the probes into the soil upon landing or hovering close to the surface."
