MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202331065979 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Sept. 30, 2023, for 'a device for aid in cleaning of a ladle furnace hood and a system thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Debjyoti Datta; Rahul Rajeev; Pinaki Ray; and Vijay Rao.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure relates to a device (10) for aid in cleaning of a ladle furnace hood (20). The device (10) includes a pair of first frame units (1), which are adapted to be supported on ground. The device (10) includes a pair of second frame units (2) connected proximal to and extending away from an upper end of the pair of first frame units (1). Further, the pair of second frame units (2) being longitudinally aligned at an off-set distance from the pair of first frame units (1). The device (10) also includes one or more platform sections (3), which are connectable to one end of the pair of second frame units (2). Each of the one or more platform sections (3) being positioned proximal to at least a portion of the ladle furnace hood (20) for aiding in cleaning. With such configuration, exposure of service personnel to harmful gasses in the ladle furnace hood (20) may be eliminated."
