MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064007 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on May 21, for 'a deterministic electrochemical signal transformation and safety-state evaluation system for a photoelectrochemical system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Abir Sarbajna; and Dhruv.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a deterministic electrochemical signal transformation and safety-state evaluation system and method for photoelectrochemical systems are disclosed. The system includes a signal ingestion and conditioning layer that receives heterogeneous experimental inputs, including current-voltage data, spectral IPCE data, and time-resolved stability data, and normalizes them to selected reference conditions. A domain-specific transformation layer extracts electrical, spectral, and temporal features, including efficiency parameters, spectrally predicted photocurrent, and stability indicators. A cross-domain coupling and feature fusion layer evaluates these features using predefined physical relationships to generate a multidimensional electrochemical state representation. This representation is deterministically mapped to bounded operational states using predefined classification rules, ensuring identical outputs for identical inputs. An anomaly and advisory evaluation layer detects deviations from operational bounds and generates advisory indicators based on domain-coupled feature relationships, thereby enabling reliable, consistent, and physics-informed safety-state assessment of photoelectrochemical systems."
