MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521031251 A) filed by Ms. Ankita Anant Devalekar; and Dr. Vishwajeet Sampatrao Ghorpade, Karad, Maharashtra, on March 30, 2025, for 'a curcumin loaded topical hydrogel includes polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose, citric acid and beta-cyclodextrin.'
Inventor(s) include Ms. Ankita Anant Devalekar; and Dr. Vishwajeet Sampatrao Ghorpade.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a hydrogel film of curcumin comprises polyvinyl alcohol in an amount of 6.76 % by weight; carboxymethyl cellulose or its derivatives in an amount of 60.81 % by weight; citric acid in an amount of 6.76 % by weight; beta-cyclodextrin in an amount of 10.13 % by weight; and curcumin in an amount of 15.54% by weight. Also provided is a method of manufacturing the hydrogel film."
