MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006505 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'a crop managing system for water conservation in agriculture and a method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a crop managing system (100) for water conservation in agriculture. The system (100) comprising a plurality of sensors (102) installed on an agricultural field, for collecting real-time data on environmental conditions and crop parameters. Further, a control unit (106) operatively connected with the plurality of sensors (102), via a primary communication module (104). Further, the control unit (106) is configured to receive and analyse the data from the plurality of sensors (102), Further, fetch an information regarding different crop types, water requirements, optimal irrigation strategies, disease/pest patterns, and environmental conditions from a connected data base. Further, calculate optimal water flow rates for specific crops and conditions. Further, actuate the electronic vale as per the calculated data. Further, predict potential risks and send alerts."
