The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a corrosion-resistant sump tank cover designed to improve durability and service life in moisture and chemical-exposed environments. The invention provides a hybrid sump tank cover comprising a structural base cover and a thin composite-based protective layer selectively applied to the inner or bottom surface of the cover. The composite layer, formed from a fiber-reinforced polymer material, acts as a barrier against moisture, corrosive gases, and chemical agents, thereby preventing oxidation and corrosion. The selective thin-layer application preserves structural strength while reducing weight, material usage, and cost compared to fully composite covers. The invention is suitable for new installations as well as retrofitting existing sump tank covers and is applicable to residential, commercial, and industrial water storage and sewage systems."
