MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341080621 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Nov. 28, 2023, for 'a cooling system for a charging inlet port of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a cooling system (100) for a charging inlet port (202) of a vehicle. The system (100) comprises a first valve (102) disposed in a first bore (202h), the first bore (202h) is defined in a rear portion (202b) of a terminal (202a) of the charging inlet port (202). The system comprises a second valve (104) disposed in a second bore (202i). The second bore (202i) is defined in the rear portion (202b) of the terminal (202a). The first valve (102) and the second valve (104) is configured to selectively allow circulation of a coolant through the first bore (202h) and the second bore (202i) respectively to facilitate cooling of the terminal (202a) of the charging inlet port (202). The cooling system facilitates in fast charging of battery of vehicle and at the same time reducing fire hazards by maintaining a moderate temperature of terminal."
