MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441038833 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on May 17, 2024, for 'a cooling system for a battery of an electric vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Anuj Raool; Haris Shaikh; and Saravanan Muthuvel.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cooling system (100) for a battery of an electric vehicle is disclosed. The cooling system (100) includes a plurality of inlet channels (110), an outlet channel (120), and at least one panel (130). The plurality of inlet channels are disposed alongside of the cooling system in a longitudinal direction (Ln) of the vehicle and configured to supply a coolant. The outlet channel is disposed in between the plurality of input channels and is configured to expel the coolant. The at least one panel is disposed on top of the plurality of inlet channels and the outlet channel and is defined with a plurality of passages (132) extending between the inlet channels and the outlet channel to allow flow of the coolant between the plurality of inlet channels to the outlet channel. The cooling system facilitates a uniform or equal flow of the coolant and maintains less pressure drop."
