MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421037952 A) filed by Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, Maharashtra, on May 14, 2024, for 'a coolant adapter for a battery pack assembly, and a battery pack assembly.'
Inventor(s) include Basha, Abubakker Sithick; Chalumuru, Madhu Kishore; and Kanagaraju, Sasikumar.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to battery pack assemblies, and envisages a coolant adapter (100) comprising a housing (102), and a coolant inlet conduit (104) and a coolant outlet conduit (106) configured in the housing (102) in fluid communication with a cooling plate (210). A spout (108A, 108B) is provided at a mouth of each conduit (104, 106) to facilitate coolant flow through the conduits (104, 106). An inlet leak flow conduit (110) and an outlet leak flow conduit (112) are configured in the housing (102), outwardly concentric to the coolant inlet conduit (104) and the coolant outlet conduit (106), to receive leaked coolant drops. An aperture (114) is configured at an operative bottom surface of the housing (102) to receive the leaked coolant drops. A leakage detection sensor (116) senses the accumulated coolant drops in the aperture (114), and transmits a sensed leakage signal."
