MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611005851 A) filed by Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Jan. 20, for 'a controlled release oral tablet using ph-responsive polymer matrix system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ritu M Gilhotra; and Dr. Gaurav Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a controlled release oral tablet (100) comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient (101) embedded within a pH-responsive polymer matrix (102). The matrix remains stable in acidic gastric conditions and undergoes swelling at intestinal pH, enabling site-specific and sustained drug release. The system improves bioavailability, reduces dosing frequency, and eliminates the need for external enteric coatings, providing a reliable and scalable oral drug delivery solution."
