MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641042470 A) filed by Hindustan Institute Of Technology And Science, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 2, for 'a computer-implemented method for encouraging responsible workplace behavior through green human resource management practices.'

Inventor(s) include Nicy Pavartikaran; and Dr Denis Amirtharaj S M.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Employees can develop sustainable behavior by implementing Green Human Resource Management (HRM) processes using a computerized assessment system. A computerized system that identifies the behaviors required for sustainability will create and measure the parameters of your employees' behaviors. This system will measure your employees' behaviors by collecting data against predefined Green HRM standards (metrics) and will provide each employee with a score for responsible behavior. In addition, this employee's responsible behaviour score can be compared against predetermined thresholds to trigger HR interventions, such as coaching or corrective action, or adjustments to the employee's performance appraisal. By following these HR processes, an organization will link behavioural outcomes to its sustainability performance measures across all three of its sustainability areas: social, environmental, and economic. An organization will also create dashboards and reports to support the development and communication of its sustainability objectives related to employee behaviours. By improving HR's ability to measure, monitor, and respond to employee behaviour, an organization will reduce HR workload, promote compliance with sustainability policies, encourage ethical, eco friendly behaviour, and support reporting on its ESG objectives. The computerized system is designed to be scalable, modular, and compatible with existing HR and ERP systems, enabling an organization to easily integrate Green HRM principles into its overall sustainability strategy."
