MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411028061 A) filed by Deepspatial Asia Private Limited, New Delhi, on April 5, 2024, for 'a computer implemented geospatial analytics platform for retail analysis.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Bushra Zaman; Rajiv Muradia; and Dr. Rahul Kushwah.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer implemented analytical platform for improvement in efficiency of the retail business, the potential regions for business expansion and measures for improving sales in the geographical region. The computer implemented analytical platform comprises a data aggregation module configured to collect and aggregate data from one or more data sources, a statistical analysis module for removing the interrelation among one or more variables. The results are passed to a dimensionality reduction module to select one or more variables from a given set of variables. A selection is made on the number of dimensions/variables to be included for analysis, the data is passed to a feature engineering module, which calculates the importance of each feature/variable and the weight associated with each variable/dimension. A geospatial analytics module determines the gaps in coverage of outlets and distributors, performs grid-level gap analysis, conducts buffer analysis for each distributor to assess and increase distribution efficiency, performs a particular product segment analysis with respect to its sale in the geographical region and finally performs the analysis of region-wise sales performance. Subsequently, the data is passed to an analytical engine implementing machine learning algorithms, which are trained using a training and test dataset, the test dataset comprising one or more variables selected by the feature engineering module to optimise the set goals. The machine learning model is tested using a test dataset. An artificial intelligence module for prediction of factors for set objectives and a recommendation module for prediction of the outcomes based on the set goals."
