MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124568 A) filed by Sastra Deemed University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'a composition for regeneration of peripheral nerves, method of synthesis thereof, and nerve conduits thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Anuradha Subramanian; Swaminathan Sethuraman; and Preethy Amruthavarshini Ramesh.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A composition for regeneration of peripheral nerves, method of synthesis thereof, and nerve conduits thereof, are disclosed. Said composition broadly comprises: methacrylated pectin and keratin, while said nerve conduits additionally comprise calcium chloride, and eosin Y in N-vinylpyrrolidinone. The disclosed composition (and/or fabricated conduits, and/or method of synthesis) offers at least the following synergistic advantages and effects: excellent cytocompatibility; high structural fidelity; superior performance in promoting both neuronal differentiation and Schwann cell-mediated myelination; promotes robust NF200 and S100 expression; and significantly reduced collagen content."
