MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124191 A) filed by Entuple E-Mobility Private Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'a composition and a method for fabricating magnesium-based alloy with low coefficient of thermal expansion.'
Inventor(s) include Arunsankar P.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a magnesium-based alloy with a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a method for its fabrication. The magnesium-based alloy composition comprises, by weight, 89-91% magnesium, 5.8-6.2% zinc, 0.9-1.2% aluminium, 0.8-1.1% yttrium, 0.9-1.1% neodymium, and 0.6-0.9% zirconium. The fabrication method involves melting the constituent elements in a crucible at approximately 800 C under a protective atmosphere and casting the molten alloy into a preheated mold maintained at approximately 450 C. The resulting magnesium-based alloy is characterized by a fine-grained microstructure with stable intermetallic phases, which provides a low coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 14 strain/ C at 30 C. The magnesium-based alloy is particularly suitable for components in high-performance electric motor internals."
