MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411029768 A) filed by Havells India Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 12, 2024, for 'a compact casing assembly for a molded case circuit breaker (mccb).'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Described herein is compact casing assembly [116] for MCCB [100], which houses and supports stationary-contact unit [118] defining line-side-terminal, rotary-contact unit [120] defining load-side-terminal, and arc-chute unit [122] of pole assembly [102]. Compact casing assembly [116] comprising first and second cassette members [116a, 116b], which when fittingly attached together, comprises arc-chute unit holding portion defined proximal to front-side [116j] of first and second cassette members [116a,116b], for positioning arc-chute unit [122] therein, stationary-contact unit holding portion defined below arc-chute unit holding portion, for positioning stationary-contact unit therein, rotary-contact unit holding portion defined adjacent to arc-chute unit holding portion, for positioning rotary-contact unit [120] therein, and flange-nut holding portion [128] defined diagonally above and adjacent to rotary-contact unit holding portion, for positioning flange-nut member [130] therein. Flange-nut member [130] adapted to receive and support thereon connecting-plate [120b] of rotary-contact unit [120], forming least-resistive path from line-side-terminal to load-side-terminal of MCCB [100]."
