MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311083899 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'a collapsible snap design bracket assembly for a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bracket assembly (200) of a vehicle comprises a fixing bracket (202) attached to a body structure of the vehicle. The fixing bracket (202) includes at least one lateral slot (204) extending in a lateral direction and a set of longitudinal slots (206) extending in a direction perpendicular to the lateral direction. The bracket assembly (200) includes a mounting bracket (208) coupled to the fixing bracket (202) for securely mounting one or more components. The mounting bracket (208) has a plurality of extensions (210) inserted into the lateral slot (204) of the fixing bracket (202). Each of the extensions (210) includes a protrusion (212) adapted to pass through the lateral slot (204) when a load is applied to the mounting bracket (208). The mounting bracket (208) moves along the set of longitudinal slots (206), after the protrusions (212) pass through the lateral slot (204), to reach a collapsed position."
