MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067772 A) filed by Interdigital Ce Patent Holdings, Sas, Paris, on July 16, for 'a coding method or apparatus signaling an indication of camera parameters.'

Inventor(s) include Puri, Saurabh; Thiebaud, Sylvain; Poirier, Tangi; and Naser, Karam.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "At least a method and an apparatus are presented for efficiently encoding or decoding video. For example, a syntax data element (sps_camera_param_enabled_flag) is added to a bitstream, the syntax data element indicating whether a camera parameters syntax structure (gaming_camera_data) is present in a bitstream; and responsively, at least one camera parameters syntax data structure (gaming_camera_data) is added to the bitstream at a picture level, the data syntax structure representing camera parameters that provide information of a position, an orientation and characteristics of a game engine virtual camera capturing a picture. The camera parameters are utilized in the encoding or decoding of a rendered 2D picture of a 3D scene."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/050915.
