MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521097908 A) filed by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute Of Technology, Surat, Gujarat, on Oct. 10, 2025, for 'a closed-loop pulsating heat pipe based solar cooker.'

Inventor(s) include Kuwar, Yogendra V.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention pertains to a closed-loop pulsating heat pipe (CLPHP) based solar cooker (10) that efficiently transfers solar energy for cooking purposes. The solar cooker comprises a solar concentrator (2) that focuses incident parallel solar rays (1) onto a heat-receiving metal plate (4), generating high temperatures. A plurality of closed-loop pulsating heat pipes (6), filled with a high boiling point fluid (7), are arranged vertically and thermally connected at a lower inclined end (6A) to the heat-receiving plate (4) and at an upper inclined end (6B) to an indoor cooking metal plate (9).The plurality of closed-loop pulsating heat pipes(6) transfer solar heat from the heat-receiving plate (4) to the cooking plate(9) through the circulation of the high boiling point fluid(7) within the plurality of closed-loop pulsating heat pipes(6). The invention provides a technical advancement in solar cooking by enabling safe, efficient, and sustainable cooking indoors using solar energy."
