According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "There is provided a power-communication decoupler circuit (3) for a ring-redundant Ethernet network system that comprises one or more Ethernet switches. The power-communication decoupler circuit (3) comprises a trunk cable interface (8) for connecting a powered single-pair Ethernet trunk cable, a power output interface (12) for powering the one or more Ethernet switches, and a communications interface (20) for connecting a communications cable to one of the Ethernet switches. The power-communication decoupler circuit has a power supply (18) connected between the trunk cable interface and the power output interface, and an internal switch (17) connected between the trunk cable interface (8) and the communications interface (20)."
