Inventor(s) include Pragi; Ms. Saniya Arora; Dr. Varun Kumar; Dr. Sanjay Sharma; and Dr. Niranjan Singh Rathee.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a chitosan-based synergistic vaginal gel specifically designed to improve vaginal drug delivery and support comprehensive women's health management. The formulation comprises soya isoflavones and a postbiotic agent incorporated within a chitosan polymeric matrix, wherein the components act in a complementary and synergistic manner. Chitosan provides strong mucoadhesive and permeation-enhancing properties, enabling prolonged retention of the gel on the vaginal mucosa and facilitating effective absorption of active agents. Soya isoflavones contribute estrogen-like, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects, which are beneficial in maintaining vaginal tissue integrity and alleviating symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance, menopause, and inflammation. The inclusion of a postbiotic agent supports vaginal microbiome balance, enhances epithelial barrier function, and inhibits pathogenic microbial growth without the risks associated with live probiotics. The formulation enables controlled and sustained release of active components, improves local therapeutic efficacy, reduces dosing frequency, and ensures safety, stability, and patient compliance, thereby providing an effective solution for managing various vaginal and gynecological conditions."
