MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611053199 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 27, for 'a cell-free protein synthesis platform using recyclable cofactors.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Arvind Kumar; and Shalakha Singh.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cell-free protein synthesis platform using recyclable cofactors comprises a reaction chamber containing a cell-free expression mixture, a cofactor regeneration module, a selective transfer interface, a substrate reservoir, a conditioning unit, a circulation conduit network, a sensor assembly, and a controller. Spent cofactors are transferred from the reaction chamber to the regeneration module, restored to active form, and returned for continued synthesis. The platform improves reaction longevity, reduces cofactor consumption, stabilizes biochemical conditions, and supports repeated or prolonged in vitro protein production."
