MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514088217 A) filed by Hampden Corp., Chicago, on Sept. 16, 2025, for 'a case cap retainer and a watch having a case cap.'
Inventor(s) include Wein, Joseph; Cain, Marc; Lennox, Cathy; Kaestner, Nicole; and Grunwald, Alan.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure provides an example watch. The watch includes (a) a housing having a first face and a second face and a cavity extending therebetween, where the first face includes a first bezel coupled to a first transparent watch crystal, (b) a disc disposed within the cavity between the first face and the second face and coupled to the housing, where the disc comprises a watch face for indicating time, and (c) a case cap removably coupled to the Asecond face of the housing, where the case cap includes a casing having a first side configured to mate with the second face of the housing and a second side configured to be engraved."
