MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104586 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'a carabiner device with enhanced attachment functionality.'

Inventor(s) include Pratiksha Shekhawat; and Bibhu Kalyan Nayak.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a carabiner device with enhanced attachment functionality. The device comprises a contoured body featuring a plurality of strategically positioned, non-gate-related holes, allowing multiple attachment points and diverse functionalities beyond a conventional single-opening design. Its design is optimized for improved user handling and efficient management of various items, making it suitable for everyday carry, outdoor recreation, and general accessory applications where high load-bearing capacity is not required.. The invention overcomes limitations of conventional utility clips by providing increased versatility, multi-point attachment capabilities, and improved organization of lightweight gear."
