MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006461 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, New Delhi, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'a canister of a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Philip Garg; Akhilesh Yadav; and Devananda B. Pai.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates a canister comprises a housing filed with an adsorption material capable of adsorbing a fuel vapor from an evaporated gas obtained from the fuel tank. The housing is defined with opposing a first side and a 5 second side. The first side comprises an inlet port fluidly connected to the fuel tank to receive the evaporated gas into the hollow chamber. The first side includes a first outlet port fluidly connected to an engine of the vehicle to selectively introduce the fuel vapour into the engine. Further, a second outlet port is open to ambient air to selectively vent a filtered gas into the ambient air. A partition wall is disposed 10 within the housing and defines a passage for flow of evaporated gas. A plurality of baffles is disposed within the hollow chamber, to enhance purging characteristics of the canister."
