MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421008202 A) filed by General Manager, Ordnance Factory, Pune, Maharashtra, on Feb. 7, 2024, for 'a candle smoke ground device.'

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a smoke candle ground device 100 designed for military applications, addressing the need for enhanced concealment, communication, and tactical flexibility on the battlefield. The said candle smoke ground device 100 consists of a cylindrical body 10, a striker assembly 20, a lid 30 positioned on top of the cylindrical body 10 and a cap 35. The striker assembly 20 further comprises a striker pin 24 and a striker spring 26 enclosed by a striker holder 21, a cup securing cartridge 22, a cartridge 27, an aluminium ring 23 and a link fork 25. The device 100 features a compact and portable design, with rapid deployment capabilities and extended smoke duration. It offers customizable smoke color options and precise timing control, allowing for versatile usage in various operational environments."
