MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441075742 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Oct. 7, 2024, for 'a calf massage device for a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A calf massage device (100) for a reconfigurable seat (200) of a vehicle is described. The device (100) comprises a body (102) movably connected to the reconfigurable seat (200). The device comprises at least one pair of inflating bags (104, 106). Each inflating bag (104, 106) is configured to facilitate gripping a leg of an occupant. A plurality of actuators (108) disposed between pair of inflating bags (104, 106), each actuator (108) is configured to vibrate to provide a massage effect onto a calf region (300) of the leg. A control unit (110) communicatively connected to at least one pair of inflating bags (104, 106) and actuators (108), to selectively control operation of corresponding inflating bags (104, 106) and the actuators (108), based on an input provided by occupant. The calf massage device enhances comfort for passenger and add more health benefits."
