According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An Extension System for Ceiling Fans The present invention relates to an extension system for adjusting the height of ceiling fans. The extension mechanism comprises an upper assembly and a lower assembly. The upper assembly houses a motor, a bobbin, a cable, electrical connections and spring-loaded locking plungers. The lower assembly includes a release mechanism, electrical connections, and a fan housing with fan blades. A cable is wrapped around the bobbin, enabling the lowering and raising of the fan. A securing mechanism locks the upper and lower assemblies in place when the fan is in the lowered or raised position. A power connector ensures safe electrical connection and disconnection between the upper and lower assemblies."
