MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541089977 A) filed by Dayananda Sagar College Of Engineering, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Sept. 21, 2025, for 'a browser extension for preventing sensitive data leaks during online uploads.'
Inventor(s) include Nikitha Kulashreshtha; Samarth B C; Dr. Deepthi V S; and Dr. Mohammed Tajuddin.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A browser extension called SafeUpload guards against inadvertently disclosing private data when uploading files online. It automatically checks text, photos, and files for private keys, metadata, and identifiers. If any content is found, it notifies the user and gives them the choice to anonymize or redact it. SafeUpload improves user privacy and digital security by reducing the likelihood of identity theft, stalking, and targeted cyberattacks by filtering sensitive material before it is published."
