MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025131 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., New Delhi, on March 28, 2024, for 'a bracket for mounting of an airbag of a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Nalinikanta Biswal; Sreejith MP; Lokesh Khandelwal; Mohan Ramachandrappa; and Ganesh Devaraj.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bracket (100) for mounting of an airbag (1) of a vehicle is disclosed. The bracket (100) includes a first portion (3) connectable to a body frame (200) of the vehicle. The first portion (3) is defined with a lug (4) extending therefrom. A second portion (5) defined adjacent the first portion (3), and is defined with a pair of cutouts (6, 7). Further, a plurality of arms (8, 9, 10, 11) extend from the second portion (5). The plurality of arms include a first arm (8) and a second arm (9) extending in a substantially opposite direction to each other. Furthermore, a third arm (10) and a fourth arm (11) extend in a substantially orthogonal to the first arm (8) and the second arm (9). In addition, the third arm (10) and the fourth arm (11) are also configured to extend in a substantially opposite direction to each other."
