MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611005552 A) filed by Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Jan. 20, for 'a biodegradable seed coating composition for enhanced germination efficiency rate.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ajeet Singh Shekhawat; and Dr. Gaurav Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a biodegradable seed coating composition (100) formulated to enhance germination efficiency and early seedling vigor. The composition includes a biodegradable polymer matrix (110), natural binder (120), moisture-regulating agent (130), and nutrient additives (140). The coating regulates moisture uptake, supports oxygen diffusion, and enables controlled nutrient release. Upon germination, the coating biodegrades completely, improving soil compatibility and sustainability."
