MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521121414 A) filed by Vishwakarma Institute Of Technology, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'a bee hive monitoring system.'
Inventor(s) include Gosavi, Shaunak Ramkant; Sonawane, Yash Sunil; Rajput, Virendra Pravinsingh; Vasave, Hiteshwari Jolu; Kale, Pramod Krishna; and Gaigole, Pankaj.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a bee hive monitoring system that enables real-time tracking of multiple hive parameters through a network of sensors and automated mechanisms. The system comprises a solar panel (101) configured to generate electrical energy, a battery (102) connected to the solar panel (101) for energy storage, and a 12V to 5V converter (103) supplying regulated DC power to a microcontroller (104). The system includes a temperature and humidity sensor (105), a light-dependent resistor (LDR) sensor (106), and a syrup level sensor (107), each connected to the microcontroller (104) for monitoring hive internal conditions, ambient light, and feed levels. A servo motor (108) is mechanically coupled to the hive entrance and actuated by the microcontroller (104) based on LDR readings to open or close the entrance automatically. The microcontroller (104) transmits all sensor data to a cloud platform via Wi-Fi, enabling real-time monitoring through Google Sheets and AppSheet."
