Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for "2-Keto-L-Gulonic Acid Production"

MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421067840 A) filed by Institute Of Chemical Technology Deemed University on September 09, 2024, for "2-Keto-L-Gulonic Acid Production".

Inventors include Samant, Saloni Arun; Reshamwala, Shamlan Mohammed Shafi; Kharkar, Prashant Suresh; and Joshi, Shreerang Vidyadhar.

Abstract: ABSTRACT 2-KETO-L-GULONIC ACID PRODUCTION 5 The present invention relates to production of 2-keto-L-gulonic acid, an intermediate in the semi- synthetic production of ascorbic acid. Recombinant cells expressing genes coding for enzymes able to oxidize L-sorbose to 2-keto-L-gulonic acid are cultivated in a medium for a suitable time to produce 2-keto-L-gulonic acid.
