Abstract: A tamper-evident cap for containers is disclosed, comprising a cap body (10) having a substantially cylindrical side wall (12). A first slit (14) extends partially around the circumference of the side wall (12), intentionally leaving an unslit gripping portion (14A) between its terminal ends. A second slit (16) extends continuously and uninterruptedly around the entire circumference of the side wall (12) at a predetermined vertical distance below the first slit (14). A removable tamper-evident seal band (22) is defined between the first slit (14) and the second slit (16). The unslit gripping portion (14A) constitutes a structurally reinforced pull-initiation zone that enables controlled and complete manual removal of the seal band (22). The gripping portion (14A) is positioned within a recessed region of the cap profile to minimize accidental activation during transportation and handling while maintaining user accessibility. Upon application of a pulling force at the gripping portion (14A), the seal band (22) tears progressively along the first slit (14) and separates completely along the second slit (16), providing clear and irreversible tamper evidence. A manufacturing method is further disclosed in which a positional sensing or indexing system is employed to accurately form the partial first slit (14) at a predetermined angular position relative to the cap geometry, thereby ensuring consistent placement of the gripping portion (14A) and reliable production quality.
