The processing unit (204) is configured to determine one of an unhealthy operational condition of the UAV and at least one new destination location of the UAV, after reaching a predefined destination location. Sequentially, the processing unit (204) is configured to identify that the UAV is restricted from utilizing a shortest path to return to a predefined home location from the predefined destination location based on the determination and determine a new return path after identifying that the UAV is restricted from utilizing the shortest path and determining one of the unhealthy operational condition of the UAV and the at least one new destination location of the UAV.
