The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an open door accident prevention system for vehicles that provides an automatic visual warning to reduce the risk of collisions caused by the opening of a vehicle door. The system comprises a door open sensor configured to detect the opening and closing status of a vehicle door, a control unit configured to process the sensor signal, an LED driver circuit, and a visual warning indicator comprising a red LED strip installed on or adjacent to the outer door handle of the vehicle. Upon detection of an open door, the control unit activates the LED driver circuit to illuminate the red LED strip, thereby providing a clearly visible warning to pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and other approaching road users. When the vehicle door is closed, the control unit automatically deactivates the LED strip to conserve electrical power. The system operates automatically without requiring manual intervention and may be integrated into new vehicles or retrofitted to existing vehicles with minimal modification. The invention provides a simple, reliable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective solution for enhancing road safety by preventing open-door accidents.
