Abstract: ABSTRACT ‘‘Negotiating Roles for CFO Error Correction in Multi-AP Coordination within WLAN Systems” The present invention provides a system and method for negotiating roles for CFO error correction in a MAP coordination system. The method includes generating and transmitting a coordination initiation request message by a first AP device (100) to a second AP device (200). A coordination response message is received from the second AP device (200) upon receiving the coordination initiation request message, either accepting the preference or containing the preference for the sync reference role if the role preference of the second AP device (200) is different from the request. Further, a coordination agreement proposal is generated and transmitted by the first AP device (100). The first AP device (100) then receives a coordination agreement confirmation from the second AP device (200). The CFO error correction is performed based on the sync reference role of the first AP device (100) and the second AP device (200) as included in the coordination agreement proposal. FIG. 6
