The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for secure consumption and verifiable accounting of digital content is executed by a content consumer device. The method comprises receiving, via a network, an encrypted content stream and metadata from a content server, wherein the metadata identifies a content owner device. A session handler module establishes a secure communication channel with the content owner device using a TLS session independent of the content server. An encrypted content-encryption-key (CEK) is received from the content owner device via the secure channel. A decryption module within a trusted execution environment decrypts the CEK and the encrypted content stream entirely within the trusted execution environment. A playback monitor module verifies successful playback. A transaction generator module generates a cryptographically signed view transaction corresponding to the verified playback, and a transceiver module transmits the signed view transaction to a distributed statistics validation network.
