Abstract: ABSTRACT “Low-Resource Modular Autonomous Vehicle Platform” The present invention relates to a multi-platform autonomous vehicle deployment system (100) and a method of operating a small-scale autonomous vehicle platform (101). The system (100) includes a plurality of small-scale autonomous vehicle platforms (101). Each platform (101) includes a chassis (101a) carrying a drive system (101b) with one or more electric motors (101c), a transmission, wheels (101d), and an electronic speed controller (101e), and a plurality of sensor mounting interfaces (101f) arranged at predetermined positions on the chassis (101a). The system (100) also includes one or more detachable sensor packages (101g) received at the sensor mounting interfaces (101f), with a single-board computer (101l) configured for receiving sensor data, aligning timestamps associated with the sensor data, determining vehicle pose and nearby obstacles (105b), generating a local environmental representation, determining a collision-free trajectory, and generating actuator signals to the electronic speed controller (101e).
