Abstract: ABSTRACT ‘‘HANDLING SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNALS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM’’ Embodiments disclosed herein provides a methods and system for handling sounding reference signals (SRS) in wireless communication system. The method includes determining a set of cyclic shifts (CS) associated with a plurality of SRS antenna ports of a UE. Further, the method includes selecting an interleaving function from a plurality of permutations of indices associated with a set of cyclic shifts associated with the SRS antenna ports. Each permutation represents an ordering of the indices associated with the set of cyclic shifts associated with the SRS antenna ports. Further, the method includes mapping a permuted version of the set of CS to the SRS antenna ports based on the interleaving function selected. Further, the method includes transmitting SRS signals from the SRS antenna ports based on the mapping of the CS. The mapping results in a variation of relative CS distances between the SRS antenna ports. FIG. 8
