MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411095142 A) filed by Chairman, Defence Research & Development Organisation Drdo. on December 03, 2024, for “fuselage Embedded Omni Antenna”.

Inventors include Asif Rizwan; and Diptiman Biswas.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Present disclosure discloses a fuselage embedded omni antenna (100). The antenna comprises a base plate (102) defined with a compartment (102a) and connectable to the fuselage (200). A cover plate (106) is connected to the base plate and is defined with a rectangular cavity (106a). A radiating member (108) is secured within the rectangular cavity by a conducting element. The radiating member transmits and receives electromagnetic radiation at a predefined frequency. A resonating block (110) is disposed within the compartment and is defined with a slot (112) to accommodate a feeder member. The feeder member feeds electric current to the radiating member through the conducting element. A connecting element (116) is in contact with the feeder member and connectable to an excitation source. The cover plate is flush with an outer surface of the fuselage to act as a reflector for providing omni coverage in an Azimuthal plane. Fig. 1 is a representative figure.
