Abstract: ABSTRACT “ENHANCEMENT IN HANDLING OF LOW POWER WAKE-UP RECEIVER TO OPTIMIZE UE PERFORMANCE” The present invention provides a method and user equipment (UE) (801) for managing a low power wake-up receiver (LP-WUS) in a wireless communication network. The UE registers on a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN) supporting LP-WUS coverage, initiates a high priority public land mobile network (HPPLMN) search timer, and activates deep sleep mode. Upon the HPPLMN search timer's expiry, the UE checks for LP-WUS coverage. If within LP-WUS coverage, the HPPLMN search timer's periodicity increases, and the UE stops HPPLMN searches while in LP-WUS coverage. The HPPLMN search timer restarts upon expiry while in LP-WUS coverage, with a buffer timer running in the background. This method optimizes power consumption and enhances network search efficiency in low power scenarios. FIG. 8
