Abstract: TITLE: - “DICARBOXAMIDE DERIVATIVES OF CHROMENO-XANTHENE AND DICHROMENE”. ABSTRACT: The present invention relates to dicarboxamide derivatives of chromeno-xanthene and dichromene compound of formula I, which exhibit significant potential as bioactive molecules with anticancer and antimicrobial properties. The invention further provides an efficient and industrially applicable process for the preparation of these chromeno-xanthene derivatives from corresponding intermediates of Formula II. The synthetic route employs a carbodiimide-mediated activation strategy in the presence of a suitable coupling additive, primary amine, and an appropriate solvent system to generate the target heterocyclic framework with high yield and purity. The process conditions including controlled temperature, reaction time, and reagent stoichiometry ensure minimized by-product formation and enhanced chemoselectivity. The resultant compounds of Formula I demonstrate promising biological activity across multiple cancer cell lines and microbial strains, establishing their utility as potent therapeutic candidates.
