Abstract: Abstract An Artificial Intelligence-Driven Intrusion Detection System (AI-IDS) and method are disclosed for real-time, adaptive, and highly accurate detection and mitigation of cyber threats in networked computer environments. The system comprises a high-performance, kernel-bypass packet capture subsystem that non- disruptively ingests line-rate traffic streams to construct standardized flow records. A multi-stage pre-processing and feature engineering pipeline cleans, normalizes, and encodes raw data into optimal, low-dimensional feature vectors containing statistical, behavioral, and payload entropy attributes. A hybrid artificial intelligence inference engine integrates a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for spatial analysis, a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network for temporal sequencing, a Random Forest classifier for multi-class threat categorization, and an unsupervised Isolation Forest layer for zero-day anomaly scoring within a unified ensemble voting framework. Confirmed threats trigger automated containment actions via RESTful APIs coupled to SDN controllers and SIEM platforms, while an online feedback loop retrains model parameters dynamically to counteract concept drift.
