Abstract: The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled intelligent waste management system and method for predictive waste fill-level monitoring and adaptive collection scheduling. The system comprises a plurality of smart waste bins equipped with ultrasonic fill-level sensors, environmental sensing modules, positioning modules and wireless communication modules, an edge gateway for validating, filtering, correcting and aggregating sensor data, and a cloud computing platform executing a machine-learning prediction engine. The prediction engine estimates future waste fill levels based on historical waste data, current fill level, accumulation rate and seasonal variations. An adaptive decision engine dynamically determines collection thresholds, estimates remaining time to overflow and identifies bins requiring collection. A route optimization module prioritizes identified bins according to predicted urgency and geographical location and generates optimized collection schedules. The system further provides a centralized visualization interface for displaying real-time bin status, predicted fill levels, alerts and collection schedules, thereby enabling predictive and resource-efficient waste collection management.
