Abstract: An integrated bioprocess for the production of bioethanol from paddy straw is disclosed. The process comprises cleaning and size reduction of paddy straw, followed by pretreatment to improve lignocellulosic accessibility, hydrolysis for the generation of fermentable sugars, microbial fermentation for ethanol production, and purification through distillation and dehydration to obtain fuel-grade bioethanol. The integrated approach enhances biomass utilization, improves fermentable sugar recovery, and supports efficient microbial conversion while minimizing agricultural residue disposal and associated environmental pollution. The process enables sustainable valorization of paddy straw into renewable biofuel and is suitable for industrial-scale applications, contributing to renewable energy generation, resource conservation, and sustainable agricultural waste management.
