Abstract: An adaptive wireless electric-vehicle charging system includes a segmented ground-side transmitter coil, a high-frequency inverter, an adaptive impedance-matching network, a vehicle side receiver and a controllable receiver converter. A controller applies reduced-energy probe excitations to candidate transmitter-coil sectors and combines transmitter and receiver responses with battery, grid and thermal limits to form a composite coupling state. Candidate operating tuples define an active coil- sector subset, inverter setting, matching state, receiver-converter command and charging-power reference. Tuples violating physical or safety constraints are rejected, and a remaining tuple is selected to supply requested battery power with reduced loss. A faster inner loop regulates an electrical variable while a slower outer loop updates power and tuple selection. Safety supervision correlates power imbalance, resonant response and temperature, and selectively derates, reverts to a validated tuple or disables power transfer. The system accommodates alignment, air-gap, battery and supply variations.
