Abstract: A WAKE-UP RADIO ARCHITECTURE FOR LOW POWER MOBILE COMMUNICATION ABSTRACT Present disclosure provides method and system for transmission and reception of a wake-up signal in a RAN. Transmission method comprises generating the wake-up signal for wakingup a UE and transmitting the wake-up signal to the UE. Reception method comprises receiving the wake-up signal for waking-up the UE, correlating the wake-up signal with a reference signal generated using UE specific identifier bits, determining whether the wake-up signal is intended for the UE based on the correlation and waking-up the UE for data transmission and reception if the wake-up signal is intended for the UE. The wake-up signal comprises a concatenated ternary sequence having a length L*K*T, where L is a length of a ternary sequence, K is a repetition of the ternary sequence, and T is a number of UE specific bits, and wherein each UE specific bit is modulated by K repetition of L length of the ternary sequence
