MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531010636 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited on February 07, 2025, for “a Tuyere For A Metallurgical Furnace And A Method Of Coating The Tuyere Thereof”.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a tuyere (10) for a metallurgical furnace and a method of coating the tuyere thereof. The tuyere (10) includes a tuyere body (11) receivable in the metallurgical furnace. The tuyere body (11) is defined with an inlet end (12), an outlet end (13) and a passage extending therebetween. At least a portion of an inner surface (15) or an outer surface (16) of the tuyere body (11) is coated with a first layer (20) of Ni-Cr alloy of first predefined thickness and a second layer (30) of Co-Mo-Cr-Si-C alloy of a second predefined thickness coated on the first layer (20).
