MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411056945 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on July 26, 2024, for “a Three Dimensional Printable Ink Composition And A Method Of Preparation Thereof”.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a three-dimensional printable ink composition and a method of preparing it. The 3D printable composition comprising yttria and ceria co-doped zirconia, polyethylene glycol, and silicon are suitable for printing dental implants as well as coatings for medical devices. The 3D printable ink composition possesses anti-biofilm and anti-fibrotic properties and exhibits fibrosis thickness in the range of 18.1 to 77.033 mm in a murine model. Furthermore, the composition exhibits a reduction in bacterial growth in a range of 85 - 90%. Figure 7 on sheet no. 5 of the drawings may accompany the abstract when published.
